The offical online newsletter of the Parish of St. Brelade, Jersey
by Suzie Parker
The Centre opened in 1999 as a joint venture between the Parish of St Brelade and Family Nursing and Home Care (FNHC) who lease the property. It provides a base for the West Team of District Nurses who care for FNHC members across the western Parishes as well as the Occupational Health Nurse Specialist. The centre is also used by FNHC to hold meetings, staff training and various health and well-being activities. Baby massage and weaning classes, yoga, Pilates and Dao Yin classes are also held regularly throughout the week.
FNHC provides specialist health and social care services for all age groups from pre-birth to the end of life across the Island’s community. During 2007 the charity celebrated 100 years of a rich and diverse history. As Jersey’s largest non-governmental organisation, we need to raise £2m a year to enhance the community nursing care. Gervaise Le Gros provides the community with a base from which they can access information and training regarding health care and their own well-being. It also provides health professionals and the community with a resource which they can utilise. The rooms and facilities are available for hire by other potential users.
The Meeting Room is an ideal space for small to medium size groups, with a board table that seats up to 14 people but it can accommodate larger meetings and training sessions.
The larger Activity Room is ideal for training and more active groups. It is light, airy and quiet.
If you would like more information about the services and facilities available or would like to visit Gervaise Le Gros Centre to see whether it would suit your needs, please contact Suzie Parker, Receptionist on 445080 during office hours.
